As mentioned in the last post, we don't play for big bucks...but I usually enjoy winning..
Not this past Saturday...
Usually we play about four mini-tournaments until 4:00am and when you aren't doing well, you can at least sit back and enjoy the beer, and chips. The doctor put me on a diet so I couldn't even enjoy that.....
In the Last tournament of the evening I got pocket jacks and I was short stacked...I raised pre-flop and was called by the other short stack, who had an identical chip count as me....
Flop: 9-9-9
I pushed all in and he instantly called....He only had AQ! The Turn card: A friggen Queen... I always lose to AQ!
I lost $50 for the night, and I couldn't even enjoy the damn beer!
Lets hear your stories!

Two Ukranians, One Polish Guy, One Italian, Two Jews
In my first post I'm going to introduce myself and simply talk about the game I love--Poker..Now if you take the time to read my posts, I guarantee I will read your comments as well!
What do you get when you have Two Ukranians, a Polish guy, two Jews, and an Italian? Poker night at my house! All of us are married with kids so we try to have a poker game once a month to get away from the nagging and diaper changes. I consider myself to be a pretty good player, and I often do walk away with money in my pocket...We don't play for big money, but we do buy in for $20 bucks or so, have the rebuys for an hour and then the add-ons......When I'm not playing with the boys, I occasionally play online at the casinos you see advertised on the left of the page. Remember, I'm married and have two kids so I don't play for more than a few hours a week online...Just sometimes when the wife and kids go to sleep.
This is my first post to this blog so please excuse the rambling....
Best Result....Party Poker Free Roll - 15000 entries and I came in second! Took 8 hours to do that and I don't have the patience to do that very often. I now prefer smaller tournaments and I've won a few of those as well.
I've done quite well in Omaha Hi-Lo poker tournaments and I often go into those because they usually only get 100 entries or so...When you enter a speed tournament the blinds go up so fast that the tournament is usually over in about two and a half hours.
When I'm patient, even with bad cards, I can do well...When I lose my patience, like anyone, I can play stupid. However there are times when you play the best you possibly can and yet you get the worst bad beat you have ever experienced!
Here's my most recent bad beat story: Two weeks ago while playing with my friends, I was getting my ass kicked...but I finally thought I was getting a break just before the re-buy time was over (at this point I already re-bought)...Being Short stacked I finally got two aces and pushed all in. The Polish guy calls with his Ace-Queen...I am totally the favourite and was laughing at the dominating position I was in.
The Flop: Q - 2 - J
The Turn: 2
River: Q
I was knocked out of the tournament...Totally stunned! His only out came! Unbelievable! I have lots of poker stories to share and hope to hear yours as well!
